Youtube and my creations
I just updated my Picasa to 3 and found that it is able to make videos from photos in a folder. This is the result. And Picasa 3 will even upload it to Youtube.com. I had to make the photos smaller, because otherwise it was incredibly large to upload. So I will have to work on the graininess, but it was pretty fun and easy to do this.
Just an example of some of my work.

I have recently started to make a new line to join my bookmarks and hair accessories. I am having the most fun making these Funky Fiber Rings.
I have many boxes of yarn and fibers. It is fun to sit with them and just let my fingers work with the crochet hook and see what comes out. I had created the perfect focal for a ring. Then what to use for a band. I let my fingers work with the hook and some black yarn and lo-and-behold and band was formed. My prototypes had black yarn for the band but my lastest have a braided line that keeps its shape real well and has some springiness to it.
I thinking that it might be nice to have some matching pendants. That will be my next step. If you want to take a look at my new artfire.com studio, please do. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to contact me.
Thanks for reading....Later! Marge

Artfire.com is one of the latest premier online marketplace for handmade products designed by artisans around the globe. I am a member of artfire. Officially shop id 650. (http://rockcreekcreations.artfire.com). I'm very excited to be part of a new venue for selling my items. It is nice to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new opportunity.
And honestly the price is right. When you are one of the first 5000 vendors to sign up, you can list as many and sell as much as you want for only $7 per month. That's much less than what I pay other places in listing fees alone.
I have some things I'll be listing exclusively on artfire like this set.
This includes 2 hair scrunchies, 2 paper clip bookmarks, 1 zipper pull, and a fuzzy funky ring.
Check out artfire.com and see what you think!
"La la la la la....Life is Good! I'm surfing. This is fun!"
"Not another pop-up window!!"
PS No computers were harmed in this shot. The computer is an old laptop that doesn't work anymore. Maybe that's why she's mad?

Where's my Camera?
With a 18 month old in the house it is sometimes hard to get product shots taken. When the camera comes out, she either wants to be in front of it or behind it, taking pictures.
So when I'm done getting a few shots taken, I usually slip it into one of my supply storage boxes so she can't get the camera.
NOTE TO SELF!! Remember which box you put the camera in so you can find it the next time you need it!
I have several sets made of a new product line I want to list, but as you see above...can't take photos. Do you think they would sell without photos? Nah, I didn't think so...Gotta go search through my boxes. I'll let you know when I find it!

I have reached the end of the internet!!
That's it! There's nothing else to look at! I've done my very last search possible! I've found all there is to find!
Not really, but I am beginning to feel that way. I'm not sure if anyone else is like this, but I seem to go on internet binges. Surfing is sometimes the only thing I want to do. Today I had 2 Firefox Windows open, with about 5 tabs each. While waiting for one page to load I was flipping over the the other tab, etc, etc.
I was in the etsy forum, the chat rooms, dropping cards, searching for crochet patterns, searching for how different things are selling on etsy, checking out my other sites,.......I think I over-did-it!
It is now 11pm, I'm waiting for the washer to spin out my clothes so I can get them in the dryer before sleeping, (because I didn't wash any clothes today because I was too "busy" on the net.) and there is nothing I want to do online!
This is just a phase, I'm sure everything will be ok tomorrow. I just had to share this phenomenon with you tonight!

Two New On-line Venues to Sell On
This past month, while looking through a beading magazine, I came across a full page ad for a new online artistic selling venue. It was called ArtFire.com. I finally made myself check it out and it looks like an early etsy...Not a lot of sellers yet, it's still in beta, but the developers seem to be very seller friendly and they are concentrating on working out the kinks.
On artfire.com there are two methods of selling. One is totally free, but with limits such as shop size and site accessibility. The other method, is $20/month which seems to provide an unlimited amount of listings and accessibility to some additional forum areas and deals for visibility of your shop. See my shop below. I choose to go with the free method until I see that sales are being made. Although if I take into account the price I pay for listing and final value fees it might be worth paying for a verified account on artfire.com.

The second venue I found while reading the Business Week article that I found through a Google Alert for the term Etsy. This article talked about different venues to sell online for the small business person. Bonanzle.com was not mentioned in the article, but the second commenter to the article mentioned that Bonanzle.com was where she was buying stuff this year. So of course I had to check it out!
What I have found here is no listing fees, unlimited items, importing items from ebay, and some neat add-ons that I haven't seen before. These include notification that you are online, a chat function in each shop, an interesting sale function, local shopping and pick-up options, etc. I have decided to try this venue also.

While I am not going to leave etsy for any length of time, I really think that it is all about building your web-presence. The more places you can be on and have your name and product visible, the higher chance of your items being seen and then purchased.
If you are going to sign-up with bonanzle.com, please feel free to click here to sign up.
I don't get any compensation, but I do get Karma points. And personally I need all the good Karma I can get!!

My treasury on etsy.com
Tonight I got a treasury in t-West. I decided since my last treasuries seem to have focused around orange and pink I would not have those colors at all. That was hard!!
I will get photos and shop links up tomorrow. Here is the link for the treasury... Colors that are not Orange and Pink.
If you go, thanks for looking. Later!

How many times can you read Harry Potter??
The only reason I ask this is because I am really curious. I have read and re-read the series several times now. I re-read 1-6 before the last one came out, just so I was fully aware of everything that had happened up until that point.
When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, I read it in a day and a half. I was a crazed maniac. I had warned everyone in the family that this was going to happen and if they didn't like it....too bad!
Now I can't seem to stop reading it. It's next to my chair and occassionally I will pick it up, and start ready anywhere in the book. I always seem to find things that I missed.
If you have found yourself reading and re-reading this series, a good book to get is the Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter. This series of books is full of clues to look for in the books. These clues really do make it more interesting to read the books.
Now this is not an advertisement for amazon or Harry Potter or anything else. I just decided to write about my love for this series.
Now here is the advertisement. ;-)
Here is the etsy search for Harry Potter. There are 833 items with that keyword. From looking at the first few pages, there are some perfect gifts for a HP lover. Happy looking!
