The Joy of Checking the Game Camera

Part of the fun of living out in the country is the chance to see wild animals. My hubby has several game cameras set up around our land, in the hopes of seeing the "BIG ONE" on camera. Here are some of the photos he most recently got, along with my color commentary. :-)

Most deer have twins when they have babies. This is a rare photo of a mother with just one fawn. It cool to see the lines that the spots make on the fawn.

I think this must be the equivalent of getting caught picking your nose!

And DRUM ROLL!!! This is the photo that my husband was waiting to finally see! I have caught him practically drooling over the set of photos of this deer. If you look closely, you can see that this buck still has the velvet on his horns. Eventually, the closer to the rut, this velvet will come off.

I will occassionally post photos from my hubby's game camera. I find them interesting and I hope others do also!

I love the photo of the buck. How frequently do the cameras take shots?

The camera is motion activated. This particular buck it took approximately 12 photos. It takes a photo every 1 to 2 minutes when something is moving. He gets about 300-500 photos every couple days. But alot of the pictures are of bluejays flying through the area, or squirrels or raccoons. So it was very exciting for him to see the photo of this big of a buck. He's already started the computer and looked at his pictures this morning and we have only been awake for 10 minutes.
