So, I've been wondering if promoting my blog will equal additional traffic to my etsy shop. The reason I've wondered is mainly because of this Location, Location, Location post on the Etsy Forums. Schoollocker.etsy.com compiled a list of all the different locations people can make their presence known on the internet when it comes to their artistry and shop. (Thank you schoollocker, by the way, that was some undertaking!)
I have pasted the list into an excel spreadsheet, so I can track where I am registered with, and there are 144 different websites an artist could possibly be found on. That's a lot of websites!
If a person could be found on even a small number of these sites, how much would it increase their traffic to their shops. I'm not sure, but I'm hoping the places I'm located on will help my future sales.

Etsy Overview Part 2
So yesterday I talked about what an Etsy Treasury is and why a person would make a Treasury. Today I want to show just a bit more about Etsy.com and what it has to offer for the buyer and seller. Here is a picture of the main page at etsy.com.
Today I'm going to focus on the left hand side of the main page. On the left hand side, the first section is called "Colors".
Once you open the colors page you have a blank palette to start picking colors. Move your mouse over the blank page. When you find a color you like, click and etsy will find items that are that color. You can continue clicking until you find something you like. If you want more information about the photo that comes up, click on the item. Click on more to open up that item or Add to cart to purchase that item. If you need more room on the palette you can click on "clean up" or click on some photos and throw them across the screen. That's more fun then pushing the clean up button!

Now if you are partial to purples, greens or oranges check out my shop. Green has always been my favorite color, but lately I seem to be focusing on purples and oranges also. Just wanted to give you that little tid-bit about myself. ;-) Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your visit here today.

A Lot has Happened Since 9/06
Hmmm. Soon after this last post I found out I was unexpectedly ......pregnant. I just thought I was approaching menopause. Not so. Fast forward to now, I have a beautiful 1 yo girl, 10 yo son, 20 yo step daughter, and 22 yo step daughter. I'm getting back into my etsy shop, but this time focusing on fiber arts. Jewelry has become so saturated all over, that I'm hoping to get in the front door of fiber before that gets saturated!
I will be back with an etsy mini of my shop and hope to post here more often than I have in the last 1.5 years.
